There are eighteen triads associated with the three overlapping triangles symbol. The three triad numbers work together as an ongoing unit. (Click on a triad for more details.) The eighteen triads are:
The bold triad number is the same as the personality number in the standard enneagram symbol.
The three triad dimensions are: Identity, Support, and Survival.
Essentially, an individual is both triads: one triad is who I am at home and the other triad is who I am in the world.
The first number in the triad is the Identity number. Due to the fixation of the type, the Identity number can tend to misuse its positive qualities.
The middle triad number is the Support number for the Identity number. To compensate, the Support number can tend to overuse its positive qualities.
The last number in the triad is the Survival number. The positive qualities of this number are the least developed and when under stress often react rather then respond to the situation.
The middle Support number serves as the liaison between the Identity and Survival numbers.
How the Identity number expresses him/her self at home or in the world, lies within the Support number.
When the Identity number lacks self-awareness, the fixation and compulsion of the each type remains unchanged.
The desired outcome in life is to develop and balance the positive qualities of the triad numbers to enhance self-development and spiritual growth.
